Measurement of scattering in X, C and L bands on wet and inundated soil surface for the monitoring of paddy fields using SAR data

چکیده
Laboratory experiments were conducted to measure microwave scattering on specimens to simulate paddy fields for the purpose of developing microwave scattering model of paddy fields. In the experiment, the specimens were produced into fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) tube with 70 x 60 x 60 cm volume. The specimens contained soils, water layer and paddy. X-band antennas measured the backscatter from the specimens, and the fully polarimetric data were decomposed into four components by applying the methodology proposed by Yamaguchi et al. [1]. The results show that the scattering of paddy to X-band microwave is composed of volume scattering mainly. However, it was also shown that the effects reflected from the edge of the FRP tube cannot be neglected. Therefore, further experiment will be necessary to examine the scattering of paddy, in which the tube should be replaced with another case material such as polystyrene case.

Retrieval Bare-soil Moisture Using L-band Sar
This paper reports a study of algorithm development and testing for soil moisture retrieval for bare fields using L-band SAR imagery. First-order surface scattering models predict that the co-polarization ratio is sensitive to soil moisture but not to surface roughness. Our previous study indicated that the measurement of (Jvv / (Jhh at L-band is proportional to soil moisture. In this study, th...

Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (Pol.-SAR) allows us to implement the recognition and classification of radar targets. This article investigates the arrangement of scatterers by SAR data and proposes a new Look-up Table of Region (LTR). This look-up table is based on the combination of (entropy H/Anisotropy A) and (Anisotropy A/scattering mechanism α), which has not been reported up now. ...
متن کاملX-Ray in-situ saturation monitoring, an aid to study relative permeability in water-wet carbonate rocks
The simultaneous flow of oil and water in porous media is described by relative permeability curves, mainly derived from laboratory experiments. Relative permeability is of paramount importance in predicting reservoir production performance and drive mechanisms and its value depends largely on the volume fraction of fluids present in the test samples. Nowadays X-ray scanners are one of the most...

The persistent scattering interferometry (PSI) technique is a valuable tool in displacements' monitoring of earth's surface. The persistent scattering interferometry (PSI) based on persistent scatterrer (PSInSAR) is one of the techniques used to reduce constraints (temporal and spatial incoherency). It is based on persistent scatterer and monitor displacement of only the pixels with timely-cons...
